Childrens Corner Childcare Nursery

Choosing a nursery for your child is one of the hardest things to do. We believe you will know the right nursery by instinct alone,  we would love to meet you and show you are setting. We hope this section might answer any questions you might have before you come.

Choosing a Nursery

Choosing the right nursery environment for your child is difficult. Have a look at a few before making your final decision. We would love to show you around our nurseries, we can use this time to answer any questions you have and provide you with enough information to make an informed choice. Making an appointment for a viewing will ensure that our nursery manager has time to spend with you, however we have an open door policy so if you want to just call in then that's fine too.  All of our nurseries pride themselves on the experience we give to children.

Each child is an individual and with that in mind we plan activities to suit each child and their needs. Each setting has fully qualified staff supported by an apprentice who is here to learn.  We are an inclusive setting and we will always try to meet then needs of those children you need a little bit of extra support. To ensure you get a place on the days you want we would advise that you book a place as early as you can. A registration fee will hold your place and final confirmation will be made 3 months prior to your start date.  Please don't hesitate to get in touch, we would love to meet you and your family.

Starting at Children's Corner Childcare

As your start date looms ever closer it's time to start thinking about the settling in process. We encourage you to take up our offer of at least 3 settling visits, this is as much for you as the parent or carer as it is for the child.  We normally find 3 visits is enough, however if you or the nursery staff feel you need a bit longer this can be arranged. The visits are not mandatory, some parents feel comfortable without this process.

The visit process

Visit one, usually lasts an hour. We invite you to stay with your child and go through some of the paperwork, discussing likes and dislikes and anything we should know about your child. It also gives you a chance to get to know the staff a little bit better.

Visit two, usually lasts 2-3 hours. We normally try and incorporate a meal time or a sleep time depending on your child's routine. We usually find mums like to stay local but it's really up to you.

Visit three, this is usually a longer visit depending on what sessions your child will attend will depend upon the duration of this visit. We normally try to incorporate two mealtimes and lots of play time into this visit.

What do I need to bring?

We ask that each child is provided with a pair of slippers or indoor shoes, this helps stop the spread of infection by bringing dirty feet inside. A small bag containing a change of clothes and any comforters your child needs throughout the day.  During the cooler months we would ask that you send your child with appropriate outdoor clothing such as a warm coat or an all-in-one suit for smaller children. During the warmer months we ask that you provide a sun hat and sun cream. You do not need to provide any food, cups, creams or nappies. We provide SMA milk and Avent bottles, if you child requires something different we would ask that you provide this in the original container which is clearly labelled.
