Our Groups
Our Valley View Nursery is split into age-appropriate groups where children can benefit from the activities and equipment that best suits their age.
We encourage child-led learning which enables children to learn, grow and develop at their own pace, through exploration and play.

Minimum Staff to Child Ratio 1:3
At this age babies are simply taking in and observing the world around them. We create a space where young children can feel safe and happy and provide gentle activities designed to stimulate the senses.
Older children participate in group singing and story time to help grow and develop communication and social skills.
Minimum Staff to Child Ratio 1:4
This kindergarden room encourages both physical and imaginative exploration.
The resources in this room allow children to run, jump and climb to improve mobility and motor skills. Children are also involved in a wide range of activities such as reading, singing, counting, crafting, and cooking, all designed to build key skills.
Minimum Staff to Child Ratio 1:8
This is the age when children are becoming more independent and want to do more for themselves.
We encourage children to take charge of manageable tasks such as washing their own hands, pouring their own drinks, and tidying away toys, helping them grow and develop key life skills.

Mealtimes are a fun and interactive time. Children sit in small groups and are engaged in conversation and encouraged to try new things. We promote self-service during meals and older children develop their skills by serving their own food and pouring their own drinks.
By providing a range of healthy options children are inspired to build healthy eating habits from a young age, something we hope they will continue into adulthood.

Meals & Diet
Healthy minds, healthy bodies and healthy appetites
We take our responsibility to serve healthy meals very seriously at Valley View Nursery and offer a wide variety of balanced, nutritious meals to the children throughout the day.
Our team of cooks freshly prepare all meals each day using local ingredients wherever possible and ensure any dietary requirements/allergies are catered for.

Outdoor Play
At Valley View Nursery we enjoy spending time outdoors with the children every day. The nursery benefits from a large garden and outdoor play space filled with a wide variety of toys and play equipment suitable for all ages.
Children are also able to grow their own produce in our outdoor planters, which is lots of fun and a great learning experience.
Outdoor learning is a fundamental part of a child’s development as it enables them to build confidence, manage risk and maintain a healthy lifestyle, all through exploration and play.

Our Team
We have a dedicated and caring team here at Valley View Nursery.
All our key staff members are qualified in childcare and are paediatric first aid trained.
Our team members all receive continuous training so their knowledge is always up to date and we choose our staff based on their passion and commitment to providing outstanding childcare.
On joining the nursery, children will be introduced to their key worker who is there to offer them support and take a special interest in their development and well-being.
This key worker will give you regular updates on your child’s progress and will be on hand to answer any questions.
“The quality of teaching is outstanding. Staff are highly qualified and use their superb knowledge extremely well. They plan captivating activities and experiences, which stimulate and challenge all children. This contributes towards children's excellent progress.”

-
Settling in Reports
After the first six weeks of nursery, we will provide you with a settling in report detailing your child’s progress so far. This will include information about new friends they have made, activities they have enjoyed and how they are adapting to nursery life.

Each child at Valley View Nursery will have an electronic Learning Journey detailing their time at nursery.
