Harrogate Nursery

This nursery is the first of its kind in the area and features modern, open plan indoor spaces with the latest, all natural, wooden equipment. We are focusing on being more environmentally friendly and are moving away from plastic toys and furniture in favour of more sustainable equipment.

The bright and airy preschool allows plenty of opportunities for children to interact with their peers and makes it easy for them to build strong friendships with other children and staff members.

Harrogate Nursery also benefits from an incredible outdoor play space filled with brand-new equipment suitable for all ages and abilities. Children are encouraged to explore the natural world around them and challenge themselves both mentally and physically, all in a safe environment and while having fun.

Our Groups

We believe that children learn best when they are surrounded by spaces and equipment that complement their ability. All our groups are designed with this in mind and allow children to learn at their own pace and really make the most of their time at nursery.

We promote child-led learning wherever possible and children are encouraged to learn through curiosity, play and exploration to boost their confidence and skills.

Minimum Staff to Child Ratio 1:3

This group is tailored to very young babies and children, stimulating their senses with calming, interactive activities. Our team ensure children are feeling safe and happy while encouraging them to observe the sights, sounds and textures of the world around them. Older children are engaged in group activities such as singing and story time.

Minimum Staff to Child Ratio 1:4

Children aged 2-3 in this playschool group are encouraged to explore and play at their own pace. The equipment and low level furnishings in this space help children develop motor skills through climbing, running and jumping. We also engage children in mentally challenging activities to grow communication and literacy skills such as singing, reading and sharing ideas.

Minimum Staff to Child Ratio 1:8

Our Emperors Group is designed for older children aged 3-5 with a focus on learning and growing key life skills such as toilet training, self-feeding and dressing. We arrange lots of interactive and fun activities for children to get involved in, all designed to help grow confidence, social skills and coordination.

Nursery Practitioner with children at meal times

We serve a wide variety of healthy, balanced meals throughout the day that all promote healthy eating habits. Our dedicated cooks use fresh, local produce wherever possible to create three filling, nutritious meals each day as well as additional healthy snacks. We can cater for any dietary requirements or allergies, just let us know and we’ll prepare meals accordingly.

Meals & Diet

Healthy minds, healthy bodies and healthy appetites

Mealtimes at Harrogate Nursery provide even more opportunities to learn and have fun. Children can grow their social skills by chatting with friends and staff members as well as trying new and exciting foods. We encourage children to make their own decisions and choices about which foods they would like to eat and allow them to self-serve, helping improve fine motor skills and dexterity.

Outdoor Play

We know children love spending time outside so at Harrogate Nursery we embrace outdoor learning in all weather conditions! We take part in fun and engaging outdoor activities every day, all designed to help children develop new skills and grow in confidence.

Our brand-new outside space provides lots of new challenges for all ages and encourages children to keep fit and healthy, a habit they will hopefully continue throughout their lives.

Our Team

We’re currently looking for enthusiastic, dedicated, and caring people to join our Harrogate Nursery team. Take a look at our current vacancies page for more information.

We have an experienced, caring team who are passionate about providing exceptional childcare. All our key staff hold relevant childcare qualifications and are paediatric first aid trained. We always ensure we have significantly more qualified team members on site than the minimum requirements, so while your child is spending time with us, they’ll always be receiving the full attention of staff.

When your child joins Harrogate Nursery they will be assigned a key worker to oversee their well-being and development. This key worker will plan personalised activities tailored around your child’s interests and learning requirements. They will also provide you with updates on your child’s progress and answer any questions you may have.

Children's Corner look after my little boy for 3 days a week, and also run the after school club for Bardsey Primary where my older daughter attends. Both of them love the staff here; they're all so welcoming and loving towards the children. .

Communicating with you

  • Daily Feedback

We understand that you’ll be excited to hear everything your child has been up to throughout their time with us, so at collection time we’ll give you a verbal summary of your child’s day. This will include any achievements they have made as well as details around their meals and activities they have been involved in.

  • Settling in Reports

We produce a settling in report after your child’s first six weeks at nursery. This will give you a more detailed overview of how your child has adapted to nursery, including friendships they have made and activities they have enjoyed.

  • Learning Journeys

We keep an electronic Learning Journey for each child attending Harrogate Nursery filled with information and photos of your child’s time with us. This is fully accessible to you via a unique password and gives you a fantastic insight into nursery life.
