Bardsey Nursery
The nursery is based within the lower school of Bardsey Primary School and is suitable for children aged from 24 months to 5 years old.
With 22 daycare places, Bardsey Nursery offers a small, cosy setting where children can feel at home and settled straight away. We have a large courtyard play area and access to the extensive school grounds for fun and engaging outdoor activities.
As well as delivering The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, we put a strong focus on outdoor learning, allowing children to gain an understanding of how to lead healthy lifestyles.
Children are encouraged to explore the natural world in a safe, fun, and interactive way, enabling them to learn about the world around them and gain new skills.

Our Groups
At Bardsey Nursery our groups and spaces are designed specifically for different ages, adapted to complement the ability of the children.
We encourage child-led learning, where the child’s curiosity takes them on a learning adventure through play and exploration. This helps your child learn at their own pace to grow their confidence and skills.

Minimum Staff to Child Ratio 1:4
This kindergarden group is tailored to ages 2-3. Each space features low level furnishings and engaging resources to allow children to explore and play at their own pace.
Inquisitive exploration helps develop mobility and dexterity, while also building motor skills through climbing, running and jumping.
Children are encouraged to challenge themselves both physically and mentally, developing literacy and communication skills through group activities such as singing and sharing ideas.
Minimum Staff to Child Ratio 1:8
This playschool group focuses on increasing independence.
Individual characteristics really shine through at this stage of your child’s development and we support children in developing key life skills (toilet training, self-feeding dressing), while also helping them to improve coordination and dexterity.
We encourage social development through group activities. Through interactions and discussions, the children learn to empathise and support their peers.
We use purposeful play to help achieve clear learning objectives and teach new skills while ensuring children are enjoying themselves.

Meals & Diet
Healthy minds, healthy bodies and healthy appetites
Mealtimes at Bardsey Nursery are a social occasion and a great opportunity to learn.
Children sit in small groups with our team members who support them in trying new things, engage them in conversation and most importantly, lead by example. We encourage self-service, helping improve decision-making, fine motor skills and dexterity. We take our responsibility to serve healthy, balanced and nutritious meals very seriously.

Outdoor Play
At Bardsey Nursery we embrace outdoor learning every day in all weather conditions. Children love being outside and can learn a huge amount through outdoor activities.
Our outdoor play areas encourage children to keep fit and healthy, with a wide variety of equipment providing lots of new challenges for all abilities.
The children at Bardsey Nursery also help to look after and feed the school’s chickens, as well as being involved in growing and harvesting their own fresh vegetables, a fantastic learning experience!

Our Team
Our team members all receive continuous training so their knowledge is always up to date and we choose our staff based on their passion and commitment to providing outstanding childcare.
We always have significantly more qualified team members on site than the minimum requirements to help ensure all children get the full attention of staff.
Every child is assigned a key worker, who takes a special interest in their development and well-being – planning activities for their specific learning requirements. They are always available to provide updates on your child’s progress and to answer any questions.
“Children benefit from the wonderful relationships they have with their key person. Staff are calm and nurturing towards children. They understand what children need and provide them with reassurance and praise for their good work.”

What the Parents Say...
Children's Corner look after my little boy for 3 days a week, and also run the after school club for Bardsey Primary where my older daughter attends. Both of them love the staff here; they're all so welcoming and loving towards the children. .
We are very happy with this nursery. Our boy has settled quickly in the first couple of weeks, the staff are friendly and we trust them with our boy. More importantly he loves it there too .
I can not fault the care the staff has provided my daughter over the years, the staff are kind friendly very approachable and highly skilled at their job and have worked there for a number of years.
