Our childcare apprenticeships are a fantastic way to gain experience and qualifications while you work.
You’ll be able to kick start your career in childcare with a competitive salary, training and support, and we’ll also help you work towards nationally recognised childcare qualifications or even a degree. We have 9 childcare settings across the Leeds area and employ at least one apprentice at each of these sites.
- You must live in England, not be in full-time education and be at least 16 years old to start an apprenticeship
- There is no upper age limit
- You will be employed for at least 30 hours per week and for at least one year
Apprenticeships at Children’s Corner Childcare
Children’s Corner Childcare are a family run business with over 20 years’ experience in the childcare sector.
We provide nurseries, after school and holiday clubs to families across Leeds, all offering exceptional care to the children spending time with us. We help our apprentices learn on the job and provide them with all the relevant training to become qualified childcare workers.
As an apprentice with us you will be employed for at least 30 hours per week with time out to attend college to work towards your qualifications. Our apprenticeships run for at least a year, so you’ll have plenty of time to gain skills and experience while you work with us.

An apprenticeship is a job designed around learning. You’ll receive a competitive salary as well as training and support giving you the opportunity to learn on the job and gain experience. We will also help you work towards qualifications to further your childcare career.
The relevant apprentice framework for our sector is the Children & Young People’s Workforce Apprenticeship. Within this framework there are two distinct levels:
The Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
This offers training for roles such as:
- Early Years Worker or Assistant
- Care Worker or Assistant
- Assistant Youth Support and Community Worker
The Advanced Level Apprenticeship
This offers training for roles such as:
- Nursery Worker or Supervisor
- Nursery Nurse or Nursery Teaching Assistant
Our childcare apprenticeships run for 12 months, after which you will be considered for a full-time role within the company.
Once you have completed your apprenticeship and qualifications, we will consider you for a permanent job with us if we think you would be a great addition to our team.
40 hours per week including time off for college attendance.
We have 11 settings in Leeds which all have capacity for apprentices at particular times.

As an apprentice you will benefit from learning while you work and gaining the type of hands-on experience not usually offered at college or university.

There is also the likelihood that you will be offered a permanent position within the team at Children’s Corner Childcare after your apprenticeship is complete.
We are looking for hardworking, caring, and passionate individuals who want to start their career in childcare.
A great attitude is a must as we need people who can commit to our high standards and have a keen desire to learn and develop their skills. Our ideal candidates must hold a GCSE in Maths and English language at grade C or above (4 or above).
