Children’s Corner Childcare was founded over 20 years ago and has since grown to 9 sites all across Leeds, caring for over 1200 families.
We have a mixture of stand alone nursery sites both on and off school sites as well as stand alone Out of School Clubs and Holiday Clubs that run from school grounds.

Our nurseries have grown and evolved with the children and their families at the forefront of all that we do. We want to make what can be a very difficult transition as easy as possible for everyone involved.
Our Nursery Age Groups
Little Blues
6 weeks to around 18 months
Staff to child ratio of 1:3.
At this very early stage babies are simply taking in their environment, observing its rich sights, smells textures and sounds.
The team will focus on gentle, tactile activities ensuring the children are happy, safe and settled as they transition from home to nursery life.
Rock Hoppers
Staff to child ratio of 1:4.
We encourage the children to climb, run and jump as language, mobility and dexterity develop. Enthusiasm for inquisitive exploration is nurtured, whilst children challenge themselves both physically and mentally.
Emperors
3 – 5 years
Staff to child ratio of 1:8.
With increasing independence, we start to see individual characteristics really shine through at this stage in your child’s development. Here we support children through key life skills such as toilet training, feeding themselves and getting dressed. Social skills are encouraged through group activities and clear learning objectives are pursued entirely through purposeful play.

A Message from Lesley…
As founding director of Children’s Corner Childcare, I offer you a warm welcome.
I set up my first nursery in 1995 when I was unable to find a nursery that I was confident could give our first son, Joe, a friendly and safe learning environment.
My previous career as a police officer had given me a real insight into life but nothing prepared me for being totally overwhelmed with love when our own children arrived. I knew it had to be a very special place with dedicated people who I could trust to care for our boys. I have always run the business as a mum first. My husband Allan and our three sons are all directors of the company. Mattie works within the company; Joe and Charlie take a keen interest, contributing a young perspective to the business.
We are delighted and proud to have 9 sites across Leeds caring for over 1600 children each week. Our team strives to provide a high quality early years education and to nurture a lifelong love of learning.
We are blessed with amazing colleagues, many of them are parents or grandparents themselves with an understanding of busy family life and the pressures experienced by working parents.
90% of our staff are qualified nursery practitioners and are paediatric first aid trained. All receive safeguarding training on their induction before they even start working with children across our settings. As staff move through the business, we offer opportunities to develop new skills and we all undergo a continuous professional development programme. We are always learning so we are able to provide top class care and education for your child.
Expert and Qualified
All our key staff have recognised childcare qualifications and we always have significantly more qualified team members on site than the minimum Ofsted requirement. Learning and exploration are essential aspects of the service we provide, so we employ a qualified primary school teacher who oversees all curriculum planning.
Our support staff are crucial and carefully selected too – for example, we know that energy fuels fun and learning, and we care as much as you do that your child is eating a healthy diet. Our cooks are fab at preparing fresh and nutritious meals for everyone.
